Kidical Mass is a legal, safe and fun bike ride for kids, kids at heart, and their families. Kidical Mass was started in Eugene, Oregon in April 2008 and since then, the idea for the rides has spread to communities across the United States and around the globe.
Kidical Mass Tacoma held their first ride in May 2013 as part of bike month and continues to organize monthly rides through various neighborhoods of Tacoma. Rides are generally about 4 miles round-trip, start and end at a fun place (parks, cafes, greenspaces, etc.) and have at least one stop in the middle. We ride together on a pre-determined route, regrouping as needed, and volunteers help with tricky arterial crossings. It's not very fast, but it's surprisingly very fun.
